I just wrote an article for Mennonite Weekly Review about the impact of immigrants on the American religious landscape, particularly the Mennonite Church. While a lot of traditional Mennonite churches are declining, the immigrant ones in places like Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Dallas are growing. It's interesting to think that the new "Mennonite Meccas" may be in places other than Lancaster, Elkhart or Harrisonburg.
Great article, Matthew. I'm working at NewBridges in Harrisonburg and a lot of what you write about resonates with both my experience and my observations of the Mennonite church both in this area and nationwide. Wish I could pick your brain for a few upcoming events in churches...
